SEM Terrace Retirement Community Program
Five members of CinDay are providing a “Stories of Creation” program for the SEM Terrace Retirement Community in Milford, Ohio on November 14. Included will be both creation stories in Genesis, Isaiah 40 with a “Beach Angels” personal story, and the indigenous story of Skywoman (a counterpoint to Eve’s story). A special treat is that one CinDay member will play a mix of hymns, spirituals and Thanksgiving songs on her dulcimer.
Workshop Discussion
Tom has had productive initial meetings with the Rev. Lawrence Bartel from Oxford Presbyterian Church, Moderator of the Presbytery of Miami Valley, as well as the Rev. Dr. Suzanne Allen, District Superintendent of the Great Miami River District of the United Methodist Church. Both support CinDay’s efforts to offer a biblical storytelling workshop during Lent 2026. Discussion ensued as to dates, format, audience, theme, location and workshop leader.
It was proposed and agreed to offer a basic introduction to biblical storytelling in keeping with the mission of the Network of Biblical Storytellers, International: “to encourage everyone to learn and tell biblical stories.” Phil Ruge-Jones was contacted during the meeting and agreed to serve as the workshop leader.

The meeting concluded with Janet’s powerful telling of “The Woman Caught in Adultery.”
