CinDay Guild Meeting – June 3, 2025
Location: Great Miami River Valley District Offices, 7388 E. Kemper Road, Cincinnati

Once again, Zoom failed us – Ellen Patton and Sandy Vogele could not attend remotely
Meeting began at 7:30
SEM Terrace
Because of several conflicts our program at SEM Terrace was rescheduled. JoAnne, Amelia, Ellen, and Janet will tell stories, Ellen will bring her dulcimer, and the program is scheduled for Friday, June 27 at 1:30 p.m. JoAnne is telling a portion of Isaiah 40 and a personal story, Ameila will tell verses from Genesis 1 and John 1, Janet is working on the story of Skywoman from Robin Wall Kimmerer.
What Are Guild Members Doing?
Amelia has not yet restarted her prison ministry. Tom is still recuperating from nerve surgery. Darrell is scheduled to preach at Hyde Park Bethlehem on July 6th. JoAnne is frustrated that a recent crown has to be redone. Sandy Vogele wanted to join us but is fighting a case of shingles! Janet is working her story for the Epic Telling this August.
Coaching
JoAnne told her Isaiah 40 passage and shared her personal story. Tom made a suggestion that JoAnne will incorporate into her telling. Janet shared her rephrasing of the Shunammite woman, exchanging proper names for pronouns. Everyone agreed it flowed better than the original telling which was confusing. Coaching has been a great part of the Guild experience.
Upcoming Meetings
We agreed to begin alternating meeting space between Cincinnati and Dayton. Because of the SEM Terrace program’s date late in June we determined that we could skip the July Guild meeting. Our next meeting in Cincinnati will be on August 26, the fourth Tuesday, at Great Miami River District. The district has graciously agreed to allow the Guild to use the district’s Zoom account so it will not be necessary for Amelia to set up the meetings in future. Amelia has arranged for us to meet at Grace UMC in Dayton on September 23, also the fourth Tuesday. Cincinnati members will carpool.
