Tandem Telling

Janet passed out the parable of the sower (Mark 4:1-20) as an example of Mark’s “sandwich stories” along with a list of the other stories containing the A1-B-A2 format. Tom disagreed that the sower story was a true sandwich and instead he and Janet told the story from Mark 5:21-43, Jairus’ daughter and the woman with a hemorrhage. The idea was that in future CinDay Guild members should become familiar with tandem tellings. Amelia used her laptop to access the NBSI website where Janet searched for a workshop on tandem tellings – unfortunately, it was not online. We then listened to part of a workshop on story learning styles based on the multiple intelligences paradigm.

Video Library

We checked the Video Library and learned that none of our submitted videos from the February session have been uploaded. Janet will investigate further and, if necessary, upload the videos later this month.

SEM Terrace Program – Wednesday, June 18, 1:30 p.m.

JoAnne consulted her notes and reminded us that the theme for the June telling at SEM Terrace is “Creation” and that Ellen Patton will be joining us. Tellers for this outing are JoAnne, Janet, Ellen, and possibly Amelia, depending on her responsibilities with the women inmates in Montgomery County.

Scholarly Musings

Tom inquired of the group if a scholarly musing on Mark chapters 14-16 would be of help in learning stories. We encouraged him to proceed as the work could be posted under Scholarly Musings on the NBSI website.

Next meeting – Tuesday, April 22 at Great Miami River District at 7:00 p.m.
