DSCF2102Angel House Orphanage in Tarime, Tanzania, houses 48 children with room for more.  The orphanage is the result of the Grass Roots Ministries which was begun in 2003 at the New Carlisle United Methodist Church with a vision to help orphaned children.  This is the first real home for most of these children providing good meals and their first opportunity for an education.  The facilities, include a well-constructed building, a deep-water well providing clean drinking water, roof mounted solar collectors, a bountiful shamba (garden), an elementary school, and a secondary school which will be in operation by January 2011.  The support of the Grass Roots Ministries has expanded from a small multidenominational group of churches and individuals in the Dayton area to a larger group of churches and individuals representing many communities in the United States.  Currently, there are 5 full time adults from the U.S. plus the local staff caring for the children.

The CinDay Guild is a member of the Network of Biblical Storytellers, an international organization of storytellers dedicated to remembering the scripture stories by heart and telling them as they were first told before they were ever printed.  Tellers from Tipp City, Dayton and Cincinnati will present stories for the enjoyment of all ages.
