At this month’s meeting we continued our preparation for Christmas as Tom, our own Resident Expert, gave us tips and ideas for telling Luke’s story of the encounter between Gabriel and Mary (Luke 1). With references to other “angel visitation” stories (Balaam’s Ass in Numbers 22, Gabriel and Zechariah in Luke 1), we considered when we have had experiences of the Divine Presence (in many different forms), and how remembering those experiences might affect/inform the way we interpret Mary’s story for an audience.
And, speaking of Christmas, we will again be taking a break in our meeting schedule, to allow all our biblical storytellers to concentrate on telling the story. Our next meeting will be February 17, 2020, at Zion UCC, 2301 Indian Mound, Norwood, Ohio 45212.
