There were 6 of us for last week’s February CinDay meeting.
Including Wayne and Ellen who are in-country for a while, touching base with the churches across the US who support their missionary work in Brazil.
The topic for the evening was Lenten stories, and we told:
– Jesus’ appearance to the disciples after the Resurrection/Doubting Thomas
– healing of Bartimaeus (in Portuguese, no less)
– the Call of Nathaniel
– the Baptism & Temptation of Jesus from the Gospel of John
– the visit of Nicodemus
which led to an interesting exegesis and conversation about how to tell some of these stories.
(Plus we got a geography lesson about how big the Amazon River really is!)
