It was a pleasant evening for 4 of us at last week’s meeting.
The big news is that the “scholarly” version of Tom’s book, Messiah of Peace: a Performance Criticism on Mark’s Passion-Resurrection Narrative, has been published! (you can see the write up on Amazon here.)
I understand a “popular press” version will be available at a later time.
(And take a look on YouTube for the Stony Point Center channel. They have posted videos of the workshop Tom did there in May.)
One of our other conversations of the evening was the possibility of a new project, a bit like the Esther program we did years ago.
Details still need to be worked out, but the basic idea is to do sections of the Gospel of Mark interwoven with other related biblical stories that would give a fuller understanding of Mark’s message. Lots of details to be worked out, so stay tuned.
