There were 4 of us at Mt Moriah UMC, for the September CinDay Guild meeting. Mt Moriah UMC is the home church to a group of tellers who tell scripture in worship. We talked about our recent storytellings and the projects we’re working on for the near future, shared tips on storytelling in worship and at vacation bible school, and talked about prep time – how long a lead time do you need to prepare a story for telling. Sylvia recently attended the Cave Run Storytelling Festival, near Morehead, Ky, which led us to talk about the different “voices” the storyteller has to chose from when telling a story (the narrator, one of the characters, an observer).
