For our first CinDay meeting meeting of the year, there were 9 in attendance.
It was great to check in with everybody after the Christmas holiday.
We talked about some of the things we’d like to do in 2015:
– find another venue to present the Crossing Boundaries program that we performed last October
– develop another Epic, like Esther, that we did several years ago. The Prairie Wind Guild of NBS has had a lot of success doing epics.
– do something to educate ourselves more about Biblical times; Janet has recently taken an online course, or we could read/discuss books by the NBS Scholars.
– coordinate a program of multi-religious storytelling, maybe with one of the mosques in southwest Ohio
– investigate investing in some sound equipment, particularly a self contained mic/speaker system for noisy or outdoor venues.
Speaking of books, Tom is doing the final editing of his book Messiah of Peace. He’s expecting that it will be published in late February.
If you have any venues or contacts that would be helpful in publicizing his book, contact Tom.
Full videos and selected segments of Tom telling of the Mark Passion Narrative in English and Greek are already posted on GoTell’s YouTube channel, And I see there’s a website for the Book underdevelopment.
Tom & Amelia recently attended the NBS Intl. Board meeting, and reported on several things going on in NBS Intl. Among other things, NBS Cameroon has been hosting a radio show for telling biblical stories. The idea was raised, that it would be nice for us to support them by contributing some money to help keep Cameroon’s radio show on the air. Several CinDay members in attendance made donations. We’ll contact Beth of the Prairie Wind Guild, to see how they have made donations in the past. (When I get more information on contributing to Cameroon, I’ll pass it on to everyone.)
After catching up, we did some timings and practice for our upcoming performance at the United Theological Seminary in Dayton. We’ll be telling stories about people answering the Call of God as part of the Masters program Intensive lunch/worship program at UTS. Thanks for Brice for coordinating that contact.
On the business side:
